When you finally decide to buy a timeshare the big question is where to get the best deal.
The vast majority of timeshares are sold through timeshare presentations put on at the resort by the developer.
You usually are induced to show up with the offer of a free weekend vacation. At which time you have to sit through a presentation by a commission sales person. The bigger unit they can sell you the more commission they will make.
And the cost of the unit has to reflect all the sales cost.
Now would it not be better to buy a timeshare at a fraction of the cost that is offered at a presentation. Well you can do that with timeshare auctions.
The normal cost of a timeshare through an auction site ranges from $1 to a few thousand dollars. Now compare that against the $10,000 to $20,000 a timeshare costs at a presentation.
