What a wonderful trip I had to Europe with our tour group. Everything was going great until we got to Turkey. The tour was for three months. We had spent time in Italy, Spain, France, and Sweden. Everytime we went into a different country we got another stamp on our passport. We were at the border of Turkey and they were checking our passports and stamping them. The border patrol looked at me and pushed me aside and went to the next person. I stood there in a total state of confusion. I politely tapped him and asked him what the problem was. He told me my passport expiration date was last week. Sure enough I looked at my passport and it was time for a renewal. I never thought about it when we planned the trip. Turkey was our last stop and then home. Our tour guide came back to find out what was going on. He and the border patrol went into the back room to talk. When they came out of the room, my guide handed me my passport with a Turkey stamp on it. He told me I owe him $20.00.
